Printing with Natural Dyes

I had the most amazing week assisting Sara Goodman at Sanborn Mills Farm. We spent four days dyeing, printing and experimenting. The weather at the farm was perfect and the field of daffodils was showing off. I couldn’t think of a better place to be inspired.

Previously I had done very little printing with natural dye pastes. My practice has heavily relied on mordant printing. At the farm, I dove right in and was able to create textiles with a rainbow of colors, something new and exciting.

Im looking forward to bringing more color into my textile work using natural dyes. Keep a look out for some bright bandanas.

In the meantime check out all the wonderful classes Sanborn Mills has to offer.
